The arrival time of seismic waves emitted from the epicenter(red dot)can be recorded by the sensors. Based on the different velocities of P-wave and S-wave. we can estimate the distance between the epicenter and each sensor.
We draw circles around each sensor with radius equal to the distance we just estimated. The three circles will intersect at the epicenter of the earthquake! Here we go!
