NSCI – National Sports Club of India

The National Sports Club of India is a sprawling institution right in the centre of the city, on the beautiful seafront, with a posh frontage & turf lawns, The club has history, associated with the eminent leaders of free India, who with great vision and foresight formulated the policy of promoting games and sports in the country.
The Club in Mumbai was set up at the present location in 1950. The club had just a club house &large velodrome named as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stadium. The foundation stone of the present club house complex was laid by Shri Y. B. Chavan, First Chief Minister of Maharashtra, onon May 17, 1957. The Club began with few sports facilities such as Tennis, Badminton & regular bouts of free style Wrestling the Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium.
The new project also has a parking facilitiy for about 800 cars in the basement. A classic example of modern construction & contemporary club house that blends the generations together.
