Accessible Tourism Dominican Republic (Accessible Tourism Dominican Republic) proposes the creation of a guide of tourist establishments (hotels, bars and restaurants) with a level of accessibility to offer their services to tourists with disabilities in Dominican Republic. It is an information resource to be consulted at national and international level available in print format and in an application for mobile devices.
Currently, local and international tourists with disabilities have a tool available that allows them to plan their visit to Dominican Republic, so it is very likely never will. This guide is the first of its kind in the Caribbean region and collects information from the accessibility of tourist facilities based on the needs of different types of disabilities (physical, visual, hearing and intellectual).
The wording of this guide is a great opportunity to promote the tourism offer adapted to disabled people in Dominican Republic, encouraging the development of a tourism accessible for all. On the guide can be found:
– Information on hotels, bars and restaurants that have facilities for disabled people in Dominican Republic.
– Detail Specification on what facilities provides the establishment (eg. accessible toilets for wheelchair users or if have staff who know sign language).
– Information about the accessibility of each establishment by disabilities type (physical, visual, hearing or intellectual) and areas (access, common services, etc.).
