The English Football League One is the second highest division of the English Football League and the third general level in the whole system of the English football league.
The first league was introduced for the 2004-05 season. Previously he was briefly known as the Second Division of the Football League and for much longer, before the arrival of the Premier League, as the third division of the Football League.
Currently (season 2018-19), Walsall has the longest position in League One, being the last out of the division in the 2006-07 season when he was promoted by League Two. There are currently seven former Premier League clubs competing in the League One, namely Barnsley, Blackpool, Bradford City, Charlton Athletic, Coventry City, Portsmouth and Sunderland.
