Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease. Every person carries two copies for each gene, one from the mother and one from the father. CF is associated with mutations on the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene. People who carry one normal gene and one abnormal gene are called carriers.
CF affects mainly the lungs, but it can also affect the sinuses, the gastrointestinal system and the reproductive system. Play our game, support the community, and learn more about this disease.
