The Blue Pages App provides easy and convenient access to UK non-emergency services. Users of the app can search for help using the advanced key word search or using the location by entering a postcode, town or city. The app helps users identify services from government, charities, non-for-profit organisations and commercial companies providing help based services.
The app is the first of its kind to provide users with a single one-stop tool from which to access all non-emergency services, covering the National Health Service, Police, Fire Brigade, Mountain Rescue, Animal Rescue and Sea Rescue. The content for these services will evolve and grow over time.
Users can look for help with wellbeing, mental health and many other such services. There are hundreds of charities listed providing everything from support for the elderly, cancer support, legal help and much more. The app presents the results of the search in a list or grid form. If there is an article or blog post containing the key words then the listing will also include these too.
The listings on the app are provided by Blue Pages or by the corresponding organisation such as a charity. There are several features available to each listed member organisations such as Events and Classified Ads.
The app works alongside the website and reflects the website content immediately. When new listings are made these are automatically reflected in the app and available to all users.
Blue Pages charges a small fee for the app and aims to donate a minimum of 25% of the net income (i.e. after app store costs) from app downloads to partner charities or non-profit making organisations.
