O Encontro Ibero-americano de Lighting Design é uma iniciativa de um grupo de profissionais independentes e atuantes, sem fins lucrativos. Um espaço de reflexão e troca de ideias entre os Lighting Designers ibero-americanos, que estende a sua influência em todo o mundo. O espírito do Encontro propõe novas maneiras de transmitir os valores do lighting Design, enfatizando a comunicação e a colaboração entre todas as disciplinas relacionadas à profissão.Começou seu caminho em 2010 em Valparaíso (Chile), passou por Querétaro (México) em 2012 e Medellin (Colômbia) em 2014, sempre contando com o apoio e a participação de importantes marcas de fabricantes de iluminação profissional, associações e instituições nacionais e internacionais. Em setembro de 2016, parte a caminho da cidade de Ouro Preto, no Brasil, berço da arte barroca e primeira cidade brasileira declarada Patrimônio Mundial pela UNESCO em 1980. Para esta edição, concebeu-se um Encontro que vai explorar novas formas de comunicação e integração para abordar o futuro da iluminação. Profissionais de renome provenientes dos países ibero-americanos estarão presentes nesta reunião participando de atividades em torno do processo criativo. A proposta editorial do EILD 2016 se constrói como um jogo. Jogo de descobertas sensoriais e de construções coletivas que terão como fio condutor a luz e sua experimentação, através dos sentidos… lúdica, reflexiva, interativa. Jogo enraizado na cidade de Ouro Preto, em uma matriz urbana previamente selecionada, que dará sentido a este evento cujo tema é o PROCESSO CRIATIVO e o design de iluminação. A interface comunicativa e estrutural do Jogo EILD 2016 é um aplicativo para celulares, no qual os participantes do evento encontrarão a programação e informação prática, além de contarem com o recurso de postagem de imagens que documentará sua participação e percursos no Encontro e na cidade de Ouro Preto. O App permitirá que os assistentes participem deste grande jogo, confirmando etapas e recebendo as instruções necessárias em tempo real. Seja a convocação para as palestras; seja o checklist de dos 7 espaços de luz a explorar ou dos locais na cidade a observar; seja a chamada para interagir com uma das intervenções urbanas.
