La Traducción en lenguaje actual (TLA) es una traducción directa de los idiomas bíblicos (hebreo, arameo y griego); no es una adaptación o paráfrasis de ninguna versión castellana existente. Se han tomado como base de la traducción las dos versiones oficiales de Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas (SBU) que se usan en todas nuestras traducciones alrededor del mundo: la Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia y la cuarta edición revisada del Nuevo Testamento Griego.
Para la traducción se han seguido los principios de traducción establecidos por las SBU, cuyo énfasis recae en la fiel traducción del significado del texto original y no en las formas gramaticales o vocablos aislados del texto fuente. Se ha hecho todo lo posible para que nuestro público reciba el mismo significado del mensaje que captaron las primeras audiencias del texto bíblico. santa biblia con deuterocanonicos Por ello se han establecido pautas apropiadas para esta versión tanto en lo lingüístico como en lo literario.
Se ha tomado el párrafo como unidad básica del discurso. Por ello se presta especial atención a las frases que sirven de transición dentro del párrafo mismo y entre todos los párrafos que conforman el texto.
