Neue Wege des Lernens e. V. unterstützt Schüler und Lehrer bei der Nutzung von digitalen Medien im Unterricht. Ein besonderes Anliegen des Vereins ist die Unterstützung von selbstständigem und vernetztem Lernen mit digitalen Werkzeugen.

Basiskonzepte ermöglichen es, eine Struktur in die Themenfülle der Biologie zu bringen, zu selektieren und Grundlegendes zu erkennen. Die kostenlose App Basiskonzepte soll einen Beitrag zum tieferen Verständnis von biologischen Phänomenen und Zusammenhänge liefern.

Basiskonzepte startet mit einer Einführung in die acht biologischen Basiskonzepte:

Struktur und Funktion
Reproduktion
Kompartimentierung
Steuerung und Regelung
Stoff- und Energieumwandlung
Information und Kommunikation
Variabilität und Angepasstheit
Geschichte und Verwandtschaft.

Jedes Basiskonzept wird ausführlich an mehreren Anwendungsbeispielen aus biologischen Themen der Unterrichtspraxis der Sekundarstufe I und II erklärt. Darüber hinaus gibt es Aufgabenbeispiele, die verdeutlichen, wie das Basiskonzept im Unterricht der Sek I und Sek II Verwendung finden kann.

Ein besonderes Werkzeug sind die Konzeptkarten. Mit Ihnen können Sie üben, die Basiskonzepte auf beliebige biologische Phänomene anzuwenden. Thematisch passende Fragen zu jedem Basiskonzept (auf der Rückseite der Karten) erleichtern es Ihnen, Zusammenhänge herzustellen und das betrachtete Phänomen in einen Kontext einzuordnen.

Darüber hinaus enthält die App einen grundlegen Einführungstext ins Thema Basiskonzepte. Dieser erklärt, wie Basiskonzepte beim kumulativen, vernetzen Lernen helfen können. An den zwei Beispielen “Wolf” und “See” wird gezeigt, wie ein biologischer Sachverhalt nach seinen Bezügen zu Basiskonzepten betrachtet werden kann.
