Most amateur astronomers have never see real color in Orion nebula in all their observation. Same with me. It motivates me to develop an app to see the color of the galaxy using my iPhone as a camera with my small 114mm telescope. The above photos are real color of the deep sky objects using a 4 inch telescope. You watch as the image grows stronger and the noise drops away with image live stacking. You can adjust the image with the built in density and histogram graph.
This app uses long exposure and image stacking to release the nature of the deep sky object. It automatically takes care of star tracking, image alignment and stacking. It reveals things that you cannot see in your telescope alone. Have fun.
Requirement: a simple phone adapter to attach to the eye piece of your telescope. You can get it from online telescope store.
Instruction: Manual focus your telescope to a DSO. Remove the eyepiece and attach it to the phone adapter with your phone. Attach phone adapter to the telescope. Press start to view deep sky gems.
Note: To prevent any unnecessary vibration to the telescope from user touch, the app automatically saves the stacking image every 10 seconds to the photo library.
Specification: Long exposure. Manual focus and iso up to 1850. Manual tracking to keep the DSO in the screen.
Cost: Free
Note: This app has no advertisement.
