The Internet of Things Assistant (IoT Assistant or IoTA) mobile app is part of the Internet of Things privacy infrastructure created under the Personalized Privacy Assistants project directed by Prof. Norman Sadeh at Carnegie Mellon University.
The IoTA app helps users discover IoT resources deployed in their vicinity. It does so by discovering IoT Resource Registries that pertain to the user’s location. These IoT Resource Registries are used to provide notice of the presence of IoT resources in a given area. The IoTA app notifies its user about the data collection and use practices associated with the IoT resources it discovers. The IoTA app also enables users to discover and configure privacy settings that may be offered by IoT resources.
