What is This Tool?

The Capacitor Converter is a tool which allow the user to qulickly convert between capacitor codes and capacitance valuses. The tool can also round a given capacitance value to the closest value in a user chosen capacitor series.
The canverter is designed only for Ceramic and Tantalum capacitors.When rounding to a series,the user can choose from the three common capacitor series:±0.5pF, ±1%, ±2%, ±3%, ±5%, ±10%, ±20%, +80/-20%, +100/-0%.
Entering a Value

Values can be entered in either of two methods. Either the user enters the capacitance value required using the onscreen keypad, or using the picker views.
At the top of the screen, the current capacitance value is shown.
The ‘Value to Code’ section consists of two text fields. The field on the left is for entering the resistance required, the field on the right for entering the tolerance required. To enter a value , simply tap in either text field and use the onscreen keypad. It should be noted that commas are added automatically as thousand separators
The ‘Code to Value’ section consists of a picker view which forms a picture of a capacitor split into four sections. Simply select the number required ofr each section.
The third section of some ceramic caacitors may be blank, in which case select the topmost entery (the option with no number) for that band.
