Deva: dementia-friendly world – Serge Soudoplatoff

Description

In Deva World, people with dementia are players.

Deva World is a Ph.D. researched therapeutic digital world, designed specifically for people with moderate to severe dementia and their caregivers. Our team has strong links to aging research at Stanford University and Swinburne University of Technology.

Players easily undertake activities of daily living that they can no longer manage in their day-to-day lives. It’s a fun, rich-media environment with scenes, pets, personalized objects and a soothing companion. While it looks simple, it’s anything but. We’ve engineered every last detail to be optimally therapeutic and validated by proven digital engagement principles while co-designing with (not for) people with dementia, every step of the way.

Our rigorous development and evaluation methodology makes us leaders in our field, and has earned us attention from experts in aging, dementia and digital engagement all over the world; you’ll feel the difference. As a caregiver, you will notice your player’s sense of calm, joy and amusement as they navigate through Deva World. At the end of the session, you can log notes and make these available to others. Check-in with your own feelings – you might be calmer, too.

We invite you to explore a digitally-enabled sense of place that delights, calms and strengthens. All it takes is an internet connection, a tablet device, and fuss-free finger taps. We are used and loved by carers of all ages, in homes and care homes all over the world.

Features:

– Customize your Deva world by adding personalized content
