Simpler Studios “WatchOut” is a new kind of app designed to help you drive, cycle, and walk safely.
We start by analyzing data from millions of police reports, searching for patterns to identify accident hotspots. Where do they happen, when do they happen, and why do they happen? We create alerts for the most accident prone areas in each community. Through the WatchOut app we surface these alerts to you.
Each alert is shown visually on a map as an icon representing the most common cause of accidents at the location. Tap the icon to see stats, tap again to see an animated close-up detailed view of the location.
Pan and Zoom to find hazardous roads and intersections near you. Use it to plan safer routes to work and school. Use it when you travel to learn the streets like a local.
Didn’t plan in advance? Start “Trip Mode” to take it one step further with voice alerts that provide advanced warning of hotspots as you drive, cycle, or walk. Trip mode uses multiple factors such as time, day of week, season, and your driving dynamics to provide you with only the most relevant alerts.
