Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) has been set up by the Government of India to promote and develop export of telecom equipment and services.
TEPC envisages, meeting the following targets:
Exports growth at 25% CAGR by next 5 years, reaching over $10 billion.
Domestic telecom products growth of 18% CAGR over next 5 years.
Employment generation (direct and in-direct) of 5 million.
At least 60% of domestic telecom needs are met by products manufactured in India.
At least few IPR- driven, Indian product company succeed globally and become billion dollar companies.
TEPC as a Council plays a critical role in furtherance of Telecom export from the Country and assist its member companies in easy facilitation of their respective exports. The Council caters to the complete Telecom Ecosystem including Telecom Hardware Manufacturers, Telecom Service Providers, Telecom Software Vendors and Consultants.
Export promotion continues to be a major thrust area for the Government. In view of the prevailing macro economic situation with emphasis on exports and to facilitate it, various measures are being undertaken. To stimulate and diversify the country’s export and trade, Marketing Development Assistance (MDA) & Market Access Initiative (MAI) Schemes are under operation through the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry to support the various export promotion activities. TEPC is facilitating Department of Commerce’s strategy for doubling export in the next three years.
Exclusive services offered to TEPC members include interaction with Government, Policy makers, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC), interaction with various Engineering Centres for product specifications etc. TEPC has set certain milestones to promote exports in long & short term benefiting the telecom industry.
